'I was pleased with my last fight, a win by unanimous decision over Spencer Fisher at UFC 127,' says Pearson.

'I'd injured my knee in the one before so I was worried about it going again, but we worked on it in training, rehabbing it, foam-rolling it, focusing on bodyweight moves. In the fight it didn't give me any trouble, and if I'd trusted it more I might have been able to knock Fisher out in the third. I knew I'd never finish him in the first, he's too tough, but I got to show my takedown defence, my skills from my back and my improved boxing.

'Now I'm moving onward and upward. There are so many tough guys in the UFC you can't afford to take it easy.'
