The Best Casual Shirts
In spite of sounding a little laid-back, the casual shirt is never out of fashion, and is never short of ideas for new ways to relax
Remember when casual Fridays was a thing? Thankfully, if you’re like us and default to a T-shirt and shorts at the first opportunity, casual is acceptable every day of the week – so a man’s wardrobe should be fit to bursting with long-sleeved casual shirts. It puts the casual in smart casual (or vice versa, check out the chambray shirt from Whistles for a pick on the smart end of the casual continuum) and can be used to dress down a suit.
We’ve picked out our 13 favourites from this season’s collections in block colours, as well as checks and plaids that don’t need to be paired with a beard and artisanal coffee. Prices range from £25 from high-street staple Burtons, to £115 by French label APC, with plenty more around the £50 mark. Once you’ve made your pick, complete a new outfit by teaming it with a pair of selvedge jeans, a blazer and sweater.
