UFC Undisputed 3 UFC 141 prediction
We use the UFC game to look back at one of the biggest heavyweight fights of 2011 and predict what's going to happen in the Lesnar vs Overeem clash.
Junior Dos Santos vs Cain Velasquez
Sim fight – Going into this fight at UFC on Fox, heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez was the favourite over challenger Junior Dos Santos, and this incredibly realistic simulation fight from excellent new UFC game Undisputed 3 shows why. He's got dynamite in both fists, explosive wrestling and a vicious ground and pound game. On paper, and in game, you can see why Dos Santos would get rolled over, even though he's got excellent kickboxing and a brown belt in BJJ.
From 17th February 2012, you'll be able to get your hands on a copy of UFC Undisputed 3 so you can play this and countless other classic UFC match-ups, including Forrest Griffin vs Stephan Bonnar, Shogun Rua vs Lyoto Machida and Chuck Liddell vs Tito Ortiz. Undisputed 3 also features a PRIDE mode with the official announcers, renowned Japanese MMA league rules, including brutal soccer-style kicks, head stomps and ground knees to the head, that made the premier Japanese MMA promotion so great.
What actually happened - Dos Santos stopped a slightly doughy-looking Velasquez a minute into the fight by catching him with a big overhand right and finishing things with some nasty ground and pound.
What's next for both men - New heavyweight champ Dos Santos will defend his title against the winner of the Brock Lesnar vs Alistair Overeem fight. Velasquez, who's still a serious force in the division, will need to get a couple of wins over high quality opponents, such as Frank Mir and the loser of the above mentioned fight, under his belt before he gets another title shot.
Brock Lesnar vs Alistair Overeem
Sim fight - Watching the above UFC Undisputed 3 sim, it's hard to believe you're not watching a real fight. The game has incredible graphics and each fighter's skills down to a tee. Overeem shows some of the world-class kickboxing he's famous for, while Lesnar flies in with powerful takedowns and attempts to hammer the Dutchman with his awesome ground and pound. In this sim battle, Overeem ultimately comes out on top, rendering Lesnar unconscious with a vicious knee.

What MF thinks is going to happen – These two monsters will meet at UFC 141 on New Year's Eve. Lesnar is coming off the back of major stomach surgery and, in his last two fights, has demonstrated an inability to cope with being hit in the face – something that's a massive problem when you're facing a striker of Overeem's calibre. His best chance is to get Overeem onto the floor and mash him up with ground and pound or submit him, but we're backing the kickboxer to keep things standing long enough to TKO the big wrestler.
If you want to play this battle or a raft of other exciting match-ups, get a copy of UFC Undisputed 3 when it comes out on 17th February 2012. As well as a roster of 150 UFC fighters, sick graphics and eye-popping camera angles, the game has a new FINISH THE FIGHT submission system and loads of cool online offerings.
What's next for both men - The winner becomes the number one contender in the division and gets a crack at heavyweight champion Dos Santos. The loser, while still relevant, will need to notch up some good wins to get back on track.
