Essential ultra marathon kit
The kit that got MF writer Damian Hall through the Lakeland 50 ultra marathon
Salomon Speedcross 3
The popular Speedcross shoe is really light and breathable, allowing heat and water to escape, and it fits like a glove straight from the box. It’s extremely stable with excellent grip. My favourite running shoe.

Salomon Skin Pro 10+3 Set
This pack can carry 13 litres of kit, plus a 1.5-litre hydration bladder and the vest-style design spreads weight around so it’s no swinging about. Lots of pockets and loops mean items can be accessed easily on the go.

Berghaus Vapourlight Hypertherm Reversible Jacket
Weighing just 167g, this is far warmer than it should be and can be worn inside-out for greater breathability or wind resistance. Such a great bit of kit that my wife has stolen it from me.
