The fastest fix for workout blues is the right song. If you find you’re dragging your weary carcass into the gym dreading the upcoming session, maybe just go home (it sounds like you’re tired) – but if it’s just your mood that’s holding you back, try listening to one of the songs British boxer Anthony Joshua has used to make an entrance.

With just over a week to go before Joshua’s title bout with Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium, one of his sponsors Beats by Dre has collated a playlist of his ring walk tunes. If they can psych up the undefeated IBF title holder to knock seven bells out of his opponent they’ll probably work for your HIIT workout.

The playlist features lashings of US rap, with a couple of Jay-Z joints as well as Nas, 50 Cent and Dr Dre throwbacks, but almost as many tracks are from our side of the pond, with current grime darling Stormzy sitting alongside the stone-cold classics “Bound 4 Da Reload (Casualty)” and jungle hit “Original Nuttah”.

Not a fan of vocalists who refuse to sing? There’s still plenty here for you, including the not-very-surprising “Eye Of The Tiger”, the mildly surprising “Hometown Glory” by Adele and the this-is-an-incredible-turn-up-for-the-books “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by the Proclaimers.

Yep, bang the Proclaimers in your ears on the way to the gym and you’ll be stomping through any treadmill session and breaking PBs left, right and centre.

Here’s the full playlist on Apple Music, which is still offering a free three-month trial. Clocking in at about an hour, it also doubles as a decent workout playlist – depending on your tastes (we won’t stand for Justin Timberlake, even if he’s just “featuring”).
