James Stentiford's Freeride World Tour blog 2
Check out British freerider James Stentiford's run during the first stage of the Swatch Freeride World Tour.
'I got down in one piece, but had a butt check off one cliff,' says Stentiford (rather too clamly) after blasting his way down one of Chamonix's most challenging faces during the first stage of the Swatch Freeride World Tour.
'It's almost worth that sense of dread at the top of your run for the beautiful feeling of calm you get at the bottom.' Don't know about you, but our hearts are still going like the clappers and we finished watching the run ten mins ago. Had it been us at the top instead of Stentiford, the organisers would have needed a defibrillator to hand.
Stentiford's run put him in eighth place overall, and next up for him is the second stage in Røldal, Norway on 25th February. Podium place possible? Too bloody right.
Watch out for another pre-event blog from him on the MF site in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, have a look at the Freeride World Tour site.
