Multi-format video playback, 16GB of space, a vivid 3.3 inch touch-screen and an incredible 64 hours of battery life go a long way towards justifying the prohibitive cost of this MP3 player but it's let down by complex menu screens that were borderline impossible to navigate between when we were going for it on the treadmill.

Despite being light and having a host of useful features – including video playback, 8GB of space, a picture viewer, FM radio and recordable voice memos – the 18 vision loses points for having ugly menu screens and cheap plastic button. Still, it's relatively inexpensive and feels pretty durable so we weren't constantly worrying about it getting damaged during our session.

It also allows you to Bluetooth files wirelessly (take that Apple!), while its touch-screen menus are nice to look at and easy to use. In other words, it's perfect for the gym.
