Rhalou Allerhand is a journalist and editor specializing in health and wellness with more than 15 years’ experience in print and online publishing.

Since her first job as a freelance reporter on a local listings magazine in Bristol in the early 2000s, Rhalou has contributed to numerous health and fitness publications and platforms, including Coach, Flo, Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Runner’s World, Netdoctor, Women’s Running, Men’s Running, The Running Bug and Women’s Fitness.

She also worked as a social media specialist for several major sporting events including The London Marathon, Breca Swimrun, The Westminster Mile and Prudential Ride 100.

Rhalou discovered long-distance running in her 30s and has run 15 marathons and even a few ultra-marathons since. She is passionate about creating fun and accessible stories that empower people to better understand their health at any age, and credits running with giving her the superpowers to achieve all of her dreams.

She is still a die-hard runner, but hung up her long-distance racing shoes a couple of years ago to focus on her young family. She plans to return to the ultra-running scene with gusto in the future. In the meantime, she can mostly be found running up soggy hills at her local parkrun in Bristol.

Rhalou has a BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of the West of England, Bristol.
