With direct flights to Friedrichshafen Airport, British Airways puts you within easy reach of some of the world’s favourite ski and snowboarding resorts. Sitting on the north coast of Lake Constance, Friedrichshafen is a popular holiday destination in itself. So even with just a couple of days to spare, you could enjoy a gourmet break, get active on the water, or simply head straight for the snow.

The journey time from London Gatwick (LGW) to Friedrichshafen (FDH) is less than two hours, and morning return flights from £38 per person run on weekends during the ski season.

Skiing is only an hour away

Friedrichshafen Airport offers direct transfers to ski resorts in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, plus routes to key locations in Italy and France. Several of these resorts are just 45 to 60 minutes away, including Alberschwende for downhill skiing. Hündle-Thalkirchdorf is a popular choice with weekenders looking for cross-country and piste action. It also boasts impressive après-ski, so you can make the most of the evenings.

Snowboarding is within reach

Why not venture a little further to reach some of the best pistes in Europe? The World Snowboard Guide rates St. Anton in Austria as one of the top five places on the planet for first-class freeriding, and it’s only 80 minutes from FDH.

In around an hour and a half, you can reach Davos and Klosters. Sharing a network of lifts and over 300km of Alpine runs, they’ve got winter sports in the bag. After skiing, boarding or tobogganing, try paragliding or llama trekking (yes, really), then take a dip in the thermal baths, before squeezing in a session of floodlit night skiing.
